Caudal Fin

Caudal fin - a single fin in most fishes, in the selectively bred goldfish illustrated it is a double fin, cause by a human selected genetic mutation. Often called the tail fin, it provides the main power for forward movement.

The tail may vary considerably in shape. In some species it's has a simple circular edge, in others it may me long and ribbon like.
